Oh my gosh! Episode 6 of Dear Hyeri was absolutely amazing! It wasn’t just about the usual drama between Eun-ho and Hyun-oh; the episode really took things deeper, especially with Hyun-oh’s backstory. A big chunk of it focused on how he ended up living with his grandmothers and carrying a lot of emotional baggage. We finally learn why he’s hesitant to marry Eun-ho, and it’s a lot more complicated than just a simple relationship issue.
I get why he acts the way he does, but as a viewer, I honestly started to lose a bit of sympathy for him. Personally, I’m all for the second lead! It’s usually the second lead that plays the supportive role, but Dear Hyeri gave him a chance to shine—and he really did. I’m now rooting for him more than ever.
There’s also a huge conflict between Eun-ho and Hyun-oh when he gives up his 9 PM news anchorship for Eun-ho to take the Noon News spot. Eun-ho wasn’t happy with this sudden decision, and it leads to some serious tension between them. I can see both sides, but it’s hard not to feel bad for Eun-ho in this situation.
In addition to this, the episode also touches on a scandal involving Je-yeon and Hye-yeon, with rumors swirling that they entered a suite together. Thankfully, it was just a misunderstanding, and no real harm came from it, so Hyeri is still able to have some happy moments amid the chaos.
The most exciting part for me was at the end when Eun-ho is trying to understand if Hyeri is really happy. The way he spoke and the energy he gave off felt different—like he was finally ready to connect with her on a deeper level. The last part had me so hyped! It’s clear that things are about to take a big turn, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
