EXO’s Chanyeol gives us his first mini album Black Out and title song of the same name.
Wow I know this is a day late but I was so tired after work yesterday I wanted to write this today when I am not as tired (I still am btw because I worked an event but enough of the let’s focus on Chanyeol because I was mega excited to have a new Chanyeol music. I am not gonna lie I was a bit surprised when I realized he was still under SM I don’t know why but that shocked me. However, the concept photos for this mini were so nice and already let me know that this album will be serving autumn vibes. Let’s get into the review.
Black Out is exactly that this is a chill vibe, led my Chanyeol’s signature mellow and lower vocals. I’m personally obsessed with rappers that sing. I love when they sing. Anyway, Black Out is very rhythm focused and mellow. It flows very nicely and either fits a later summer evening or a warm autumn day which makes it feel like a warm hug. Nice and cozy. Chanyeol really knows how to deliver on the vibes and the music video really offers the same. Black Out was a nice song to me when it came out yesterday but since then it has really grown on my and made me like it even more! A win.
The mini album is filled with songs that fit the vibe that Black Out had set! Songs like Ease Up and I’m on your side too made me feel comforted just by their sounds. Such good songs to listen to right after the title. Overall, this mini album slays.
