TWICE’s Tzuyu Invites Us To Run Away

Nayeon makes her solo debut with first mini album about TZU and title song Run Away.

I was weirdly excited for this comeback, I don’t know when it happened but I have grown incredibly fond of Twice and now that some of the members are getting the opportunity to release solo or unit music I am absolutely here for it. After Nayeon and Jiyho our Maknae Tzuyu is up next. I had honestly no idea what music by Tzuyu solo would sound like, like what kind of genre would she go for? What concept? I was truly intrigued and excited to find out. The concept photos alone were stunning and once I hear the first musical teasers I knew this might be a good one. Let’s review.

Run Away is a bop and a half. I can hear a bit of Twice’s signature sound in it but it feels just aqs full and carried by Tzuyu’s vocals alone. Run Away is groovy as hell and feels like a retro inspired city pop track. No but for real I think Run Away and I CAN’T STOP ME by Twice sit at the same table? Tzuyu takes us straight to the dance floor. Run Away flows nicely, shows off her vocals and gives us a catchy hook. While the song feels complete I can’t deny that I would love to hear what this song would sound like filled with 9 different voices instead of just one. However, Tzuyu does a great job at performing this and made a really solid solo debut. Run Away is a really good song for this time of year.

I have to say I was really surprised at the really solid features Tzuyu had one this mini album. The song with Penial is really catchy Heartbreak In Heaven and I loved it one first listen. As well as the song with pH-1 Lazy Baby is an another bop. My favorite solo song on the album has to be One Love the song is just so catchy and nostalgic to me I don’t know why. Anyway, overall Tzuyu made a really solid solo debut and I am excited for her getting this chance!
