Baekhyun returns to us finally with his new and fourth mini album Hello World and title song Pineapple Slice.
Man this is a comeback I wish Una had the time to write for because that’s her man. Let’s just imagine the essay of praise and adoration she would have written for this and let’s be gentle on me trying to make up for the lack of said essay. I really love Baekhyun and I can’t believe this is the first official comeback he has since being discharged? I think there was too much drama going on with changing companies and the League song he did that I didn’t notice how long we went without this groovy legend. Well then, let’s review.
Pineapple Slice is a very Baekhyun song, this man just knows how to make sensual, groovy r&b music that fits his vocal color. The groove and catchiness starts right with the first verse of Pineapple Slice. The instrumental kind of goes crazy here like what is he cooking up? The pre-chorus slows things down a little bit just for a pretty groovy chorus to hit with a catchy hook, I love pineapple even though it eats me back every time I have it. Baekhyun just knows how strong of a vocalist he is and it fits the song and mood of Pineapple Slice very well. The bridge of the song is probably one of my personal highlights he went hard with that. Overall, Pineapple Slice is a really solid comeback after such a long time for Baekyhun and I am pretty sure the song will grow on me a lot more with time. This is gonna be a late summer banger.
The mini album is pretty solid as well I really liked Woo on the first listen from the b-sides because it’s a bit more of a darker more sensual song but still very catchy. The vocals and harmonies during this song are crazy and also go crazy. Overall, the entire mini is very easy on the ears and I am glad to have Baekhyun back!
