One of my favorite bands is finally back! LUCY Aren’t Always Good Sometimes They Are The Villain

LUCY return with their fifth EP From. and title song Villain.

One of my favorite bands is finally back! Man LUCY has really grown to be one of my favorite K-bands throughout the past few years and comebacks. There is just something about them and the fact they have a violinist among their ranks besides a fantastic main vocalist that makes them just stand out for me on a musical level. I was excited to hear what this comeback would have in store for us as the concept photos and music teasers had me intrigued so let’s get into the review!

Villain feels like a LUCY song right of the bat. This is the LUCY we know and are familiar with. I am not gonna lie Villain in the beginning sounds a bit too familiar to me and I was scared at first how the song would differentiate itself from other LUCY songs but that worry evaporates as the song goes on. Villain establishes its own mood and feeling as it goes on and becomes its own entity. Overall, it’s a really fun song that tells a story. Villain lives from the vocals and the interplay of all the instruments. It is a solid release and feels very LUCY and fits right into the group’s previous releases.

As for the b-sides two of them stole my heart. I have to say Complex right off the bat caught my ear it is a ton of fun and really upbeat. Doggaebi Dance follows the mood and theme set by the previous song and takes it to another level. I can tell the mini album is full of bangers and I will probably listen to these two b-sides and the title song for the next few months to come and enjoy them. I just really like and enjoy LUCY’s music.
