Lightsum make their return with new single called Pose.
I feel like it’s been a while since we last heard from LIGHTSUM and the announcement and lead up to this comeback also felt quite sudden? Well, Cube things I suppose I am happy to see the girls back on the scene even if it is just with another single the girls get to sing and dance so we will take it. I barely saw anything teaser or concept related leading up to this single but also I have been quite busy. So Let’s just get into the review.
Pose is just under three minutes but gets a lot done. The song is definitely LIGHTSUM’s attempt at the more subdued and mellow girl group trend. We get light beats, some catchy phrases and vocals, especially during the verses and pre-chorus. I like that Pose‘s chorus kicks stuff a bit into gear with the tempo and makes it more of an upbeat song. Pose isn’t reinventing the wheel it offers us a lot of common and known tropes but it works for the girls and has a certain summer feeling to it as well. It’s cute just like the music video I love the sleep over theme, they really look like they were having a great time filming this.
Overall, a solid comeback from these girls.
