KWON EUNBI Makes A Comeback With "SABOTAGE" And PRIMROSE Come Back With "Freyja"

KWON EUNBI (권은비) - SABOTAGE

Review

"SABOTAGE" is a Euro-House, high-energy, past-paced dance track inspired by '80s disco sounds. With its retro drum beats and modern synthesizers, the song evokes the refreshing yet hot vibes of summer. Eun Bi's vocals shine, delivering a memorable performance that showcases her range, charisma and evolution as a solo artist. The track starts strongly catching your attention and gaining momentum from the first note and only gets better as it progresses, blending and layering catching melodies, until it explodes with a hard-hitting chorus.

The music video is equally impressive, with Eun Bi delivering a dynamic performance with a stylish choreography against a backdrop of vibrant sets. Eun Bi is seen having a blast in a bold and confident manner while the visuals perfectly complement the song's empowering message and electrifying sound.

Kwon Eun-bi has been steadily building her career as a solo artist, but with "SABOTAGE," she establishes herself as a force to be reckoned with in the K-pop industry. Overall this an impressive comeback and great addition to Eun Bi's already impressive discography, with "SABOTAGE" being just the latest milestone in what promises to be a long and exciting career for this rising K-pop star.

PRIMROSE (프림로즈) - Freyja

Review

"Freyja" marks Primrose's second comeback as a quartet and draws inspiration from the Norse mythology, at least visually and lyrically, which is a notable choice considering the significant influence of Scandinavian creators on the K-pop industry over the years. While the song attempts to deliver a majestic vibe through its grand chorus, the generic production hinders its ability to fully achieve that desired effect. Aside from a few interesting synths and the heavy percussions, the song feels reminiscent of many other similar girl group tracks, lacking identity. The production also feels empty at times, especially at the beginning, with many silent moments killing the momentum.

On a positive note, the chorus is properly epic and the alternating singing styles make the song feel more bombastic than it really is.  The group seems to have everything it needs to establish their own unique identity within the K-pop landscape, however, their label till needs to fine-tune the production of their songs to make them stand out from start to finish. A great chorus doesn't make a great song.
